i resigned from se for a number of reasons. if you know me, you know how upset i was when i had to resign.

and if you want to know, you can ask me.

but, think what you will.

Obviously, Anonymous, you are not on SGA, or have not been there for long...otherwise you would know why michelle resigned. Nor do you have any concept of the difficulty of the job of chair of entertainent. If you did, then you too would be in agreement with most of us on SGA and you would be voting for her as well.

You said, "Nor do you have any concept of the difficulty of the job of chair of entertainment." Isn't that the point of the post? To show that entertainment was hard, but that is what leadership is all about. It's about accepting difficulty and sticking with it. The job of the president WON'T be any easier than the job of SE. That's why you take responsibility only if you think you can see it through. If you have any doubt, don't take the position. IF SE turned out harder than you thought, why take the chance that Pres will be any easier and risk possibly leaving the office or not being able to give it your whole time. If you had problems with those in the administration, do you think the position of Pres will be cloistered from the association with those same individuals in the administration that gave you hell when you were SE chair?

Reading the above posts it brought back the memories. SGA drama. It's what i lived for. By the way this is Bernie and i'm not anonymous.
Oh yea, vote Kerry 2008 because he's my dawg and he lives next to me.

and anonymous rears their ugly head again...never a dull moment with that guy.

Trying to be as objective as possible, I think you bring up a valid concern "anonymous". And that is certainly your right to not vote or to vote for whoever you choose.

But as a past SGA president myself, there are plenty of other people who have quit, for a host of reasons, and returned to SGA, who have been among the most valuable contributors to the body.

I appreciate what you're saying, but in my experience, that logic isn't necessarily valid.

So, you are saying there have been people who have quit then returned as valuable members.
I guess my only question would be. 1. Did they quit mid way through their term.
2. Did they return to a position with greater respobsibility.
3. The reason that they left, would it be possible in any way that they would encounter it again in their new position. IE leaving say because of run ins with the administration.
I guess i don't have a problem with people leaving then returning for valid reasons. I can respect anyone that leaves for say problems with the administration, or an overflow of work that gets you down. I understand that. However, to ask someone to vote for you for a HIGHER position where many of the reasons you left in the first place are still likely to be there, IE stress with school, admin problems, devisive faculty, etc, is at best a problem that needs to be addressed. I haven't been at Campbell long, but i know problems don't go away.
Also, do you have the names of those people who have left and returned?

Hi Michelle. I just have to post after reading your blog. It's the mom in me.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials, of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perserverance. Perserverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything." James 1:2-4

I want you to make sure you fix your eyes on Jesus. As I have told you throughout your life... Always do what you know to be right before God and that is all that matters.

I would suggest that you take the comment portion off your blog..........anonymous is trying to steal your joy and that's not of God. You simply don't need that and you can stop it. I have been around long enough to know that anonymous = coward.

I leave you with this...
"When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we answer kindly".......make sure you do this. God will be honored....and that's what matters most.

I love you,
mom

You state, “anonymous is trying to steal your joy and that’s not of God.” That’s a very rash statement and one I don’t believe is backed up by my posts. I have asked legitimate questions about an individual running for public office. The same questions you, your husband, me, my parents, etc would have asked for anyone running for governor, senator, president, etc. I hardly understand how asking questions concerning one’s adequacy for office is stealing joy. If it is all of us have been guilty of questioning public officials running for office. I’m not trying to steal her joy in the Lord, I was asking her questions about her decision to run for office, questions it seems she already has thought of and pondered herself. Stealing someone’s joy in the lord and inquiring into the leadership traits they possess are two different things.
